Yay!!!! I’m in a MAGAZINE!!!

I was just looking for a magazine to buy this morning in the Los Angeles International Airport (AKA LAX)…and what do I see but the OCTOBER ( I know! We’re still only in the middle of September!)….issue- the BIG ANNIVERSARY ISSUE of ELLE magazine!!!!
It’s like 2 million pages thick….but I knew if I went to the “Elle Beauty” pages I might see my little ol’ face! Lo and behold….I give you this picture….: (yay! yay! yay!)
may I fill you in on a little special info: I took this picture myself in my bathroom! ha ha ha ha
To think this picture I took with my little old camera made it into the pages of ELLE is so AMAZING to me!
Just goes to show you…the beauty of things…never did I think that I’d be posing in my bathroom, with my little camera…not at all a glamorous like a real glossy photo shoot, just me, my bathroom, and the “fancy” lighting around my mirror! ha ha ha
Great things can start is weird places like your very own bathroom!!!
I’ve had to ask 2 different strangers to take my picture with this magazine! I was actually uploading these photos on my computer when I realized I had missed my flight! Yes while I was trying to get this online for you all to read…..my plane boarded and sat on the tarmac while I stood watching from inside the airport! ha ha ha ha
Here is the picture I had Stranger #2, take while I was missing my flight:
Yes, it’s the big issue with Megan Fox on the front!
And here’s me with myself on the magazine page!!!
Do you think Stranger #2 thought this was weird!? ha ha ha…she did say “congrats” afterwards! The ironic thing is, I have the same make-up look on in real life as I had on in the picture….pin-up lips and red mouth! ha ha ha weirdy!
I’m off to basque in the beauty of the San Jose Airport, type my other blog about my day with my sister: read it, it’s fun:
love from the airport and ELLE magazine!!!!!!! I’m so excited!!!!!

Indian Bridal Trial – 2 looks

Hi Bellas,

I’m back with pictures from another bridal trial. Oftentimes, when I work on Southeast Asian Brides, we’ll do more than one look. I’ve done up to four look changes because their traditional wedding process can last a few days time.

To see the look click here!
Typically, the bride will want something more natural or traditional and then go for a dramatic look. I often ask them to bring a piece of their outfit so that we can get inspiration for the look.

In the picture, you’ll see both eye looks. For each look, I’ll modify the lip and cheek color but the canvas stays the same.  One look was for the ceremony.  I went for the traditional palette for Indian brides of golds, reds, coppers and bronzes.  For the evening, we mixed it up and went for a smokey aqua eye.

The wedding is next month. I’ll make sure and take pics for you all.

Till next time, Ciao Bellas!

More Fall Trends!

As I mentioned yesterday, a new season means it’s time to make some changes and to adjust your beauty routine to reflect the new season ahead. For whatever reason, it seems like the move into fall brings with it the most change…and it makes me want to update my beauty products and clothes more than at other season changes throughout the year.

No matter what season we’re in, I think we all want the basics: glowing skin, kissable lips, rich hair color and perfectly styled strands.  Here are some tips and beauty buys to keep you looking effortlessly chic throughout the fall season from the folks over at Proctor & Gamble (don’t laugh–they’re the home of some of your favorite beauty products like Pantene, Cover Girl, and Olay!).

Hair Color
Variations of warm reds, red-auburns and strawberry will be the color looks of the season. Whatever your hair color, fall looks will be fresh – the days of visible roots are over! Get the vibrant fall color you want with Clairol Perfect 10. The AminoGlycine technology creates depth and dimension using high-gloss, high-shine color for flawless gray coverage in just 10 minutes. (No visible roots!  Ah!  I need to get to my salon ASAP!)

Hair Style
Flat hair is so last season! Fall is all about making a statement with your look – including your hair style. Boost strands to reveal ultimate volume and bounce with the NEW Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Triple Action Volume Mousse. It is formulated to keep hair from falling flat, creating effortless volume by lifting at the root and extending through strands. (I could really use this stuff!  My hair has seemed a bit too flat lately…)

Skin
This season give your skin a fresh start and a firmer, younger look. The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum is a super concentrated serum clinically proven to help firm skin’s appearance across three key zones – the face, neck, and décolletage after only five days. Containing Olay’s most concentrated amino-peptide complex, this hydrating serum is the perfect pre-makeup skin solution.  (I love Olay.  For me, they can do no wrong!)

  • Insider tip from Olay Celebrity Makeup Artist Bruce Grayson: “Great makeup starts with great skincare. The key to prepping and hydrating the skin without overdoing it is using a product that’s powerful yet lightweight.”

Lips
Complementing all skin tones, sheer lipsticks in rose, pink, peach and beige will be seen this fall season. Soft color gloss will mimic nude lips and add fullness. COVERGIRL Outlast Lipstain gives lips a natural look and the innovative formula delivers precision application and color that lasts without the sticky, heavy layer of many traditional lipsticks. Lips feel bare and look beautiful – what more could a woman want from her lip color?  (I am currently on the hunt for a killer fall lip product and will happily accept any suggestions you want to throw my way!)

  • Insider tip from COVERGIRL Celebrity Makeup Artist Molly R. Stern: “To achieve the perfect pout and smooth lips, start by exfoliating your lips with warm water and a wash cloth, then apply an emollient lip balm to deeply nourish lips throughout the night.”
