Glaminars coming to an end…or at least a long pause…

I decided to do all the Glaminar dates as a final Glaminar tour, there’s no way I can fit the 7 hours of learning into a youtube video, and the things that I share there are “inner sanctum” knowledge that is very special knowledge and tips that you ‘ll learn no where else. I love inspiring and giving the knowledge to make your dreams happen…
The Glaminars are as much about make-up…and empowering you with the knowledge, confidence and hope to make your dreams really happen.

Unfortunately due to my work schedule and my health… I’m not going to be able to do anymore Glaminars next year. Not only do putting these on cause me to work all day and well until 2 am, trying to arrange everything, email, get gift bag sponsors, try to book events and deal with awful contracts, email people, maintain all the orders, stay on top of how many seats we have left at each venue, and then stress out over missing packages and items! And I am trying to blog, film video, edit video, work other jobs, and be a single mom…I can’t continue to do these, even though I love them so much!

I hope that I will be able to do them again, because I love sharing my “skills” with you in a way that is so unlike what I can share on youtube…and meeting you all is more amazing than I can even describe.

I deal with a lot of swelling in my leg, and at every break I had to elevate and wish that there was a huge ice bath to soak my leg in.
I know a lot of people have asked for me to do a GLAMINAR in San Francisco, LA and possible Las Vegas….I will try my hardest to see if I can squeeze them in before the end of the year…please comment below to let me know if there’s enough interest for me to do them there.

My schedule will be changing, and I will need to find a different way to take care of my family, Glaminars are very expensive to put on, and I will need to spend my time working on other things to take care of my family.  I want to spend more time with my family…even though I only travel when my ex-husband has the kids, usually leaving right after I drop them off…I want to be able to spend more time with them and be rested!

There truly are no words to express how much I will miss the joy, love and the amazing impact that is felt by everyone at the Glaminars….I hope one day there will be a way that I  will be able to resume them again.

Please enjoy this video and kind words from Alyssa…after the Glaminar in Chicago…she was also a brave model that let me show off her “cute nose” to everyone! Thank you Alyssa and all the precious hearts that are know in my Glaminar-inspired-hearts space in my heart!

Please comment below if you’d go to a Glaminar in San Francisco or Los Angeles if I can fit one more in this year.

click here to sign up and see the rest of the GLAMINAR dates: www.glaminar.com

huge love and sadness that I won’t be able to do these anymore…but excitement that I won’t know what the future will hold….types with love, kandee

Confidential Brushes Review/Giveaway

Hi Bellas,

I’m back with another Friday giveaway.  My friend Elle at Confidential Brushes recently sent me some items to review and giveaway.  This time around, I’ll be reviewing the All About Eyes promotion and I’ll stick in an extra giveaway too :)

Click here to see my review and the giveaway!

Check out the video!

All About Eyes Set $45
Confidential Brushes is currently allowing customers to pick their six favorites eye brushes.   I will say that a long time ago, the company sent me some of their individual brushes when I tested out one of their brush sets.  OMG, it was love.  They are so high quality and very affordable.  Very comparable to Sigma and so many MAC dupes in there.  I actually like the individual brushes better than the brush sets, the quality is outstanding.  This time, you can choose your five favorites ones and they’ll be sent to you in a super cute, hand made brush pouch.  This is great for travel and for the “diva on the go”.  The brushes retail individually for $8 but the value is way better when you buy them in this set.  This is great because you get to choose your own brushes but you get a package deal.

In this kit, I have the blender brush (dupe for mac 217), pencil brush (dupe for mac 219), smudger brush (dupe for mac 208), concealer brush (dupe for mac 194), angled liner brush (dupe for mac 266) and their own original large shader/blender brush which is totally unique and amazing.  The quality is great and you have little shedding and bleeding with washing.  I’ve used my Confidential Brushes on clients and I’ve gotten great feedback…clients love how soft they feel on the skin.  You can pick your own brushes which is great because we all have our preferences.  At $45, you’ll get 6 really great brushes and a hand-crafted brush pouch.  I will say that I use the individual brushes on myself all the time.

My Review of the 17 Piece Confidential Brushes Synthetic Brush Set $50
I also wanted to mention that I’ve been using the Confidential Synthetic Brushes set for a few weeks now.  I picked it up at IMATS but haven’t had time to test it out until mid July.  I’m really loving it for using with my cream, liquid and gel products.  My latest love is using synthetic powder brushes to apply and blend cream/liquid foundation.  This is the technique that celebrity makeup artist AJ Crimson uses.  The finish is amazing!  If you’ve ever used Sephora’s “Airbrush” foundation brush, it’s a similar concept.  The synthetic bristles don’t absorb as much product, but the tapered bristles really do a great job at blending.  The brushes are also great for more fun, theatrical looks.  With Halloween coming up, I’ll be doing a lot of looks using paints and cream colors.  The synthetic eyeshadow/liner brushes are perfect for that kind of application.  This makes a great complementary set to your current brush collection.

Cons
My only con is that the actual brush roll smelt super rubbery when I first got it.  At first I thought it was the bristles but after a few washes and no smell, I realized it was the brush roll.  This is probably because it was packaged right after it was made and the smell stayed with the product.  After having it out and about the smell dissipated so it wasn’t a big deal.  The only other thing to consider with synthetic brushes is that they do take longer to dry after washing.

Would I recommend?  Yes!  Believe me, I have a whole lot of brushes…but not as many synthetic ones.  I’ve been using these a lot and they work really well.

Skincare Update & Giveaway – Jan Marini Skincare

Hi Bellas,

It’s been a while since I updated you all on my skincare routine.  If you follow me on twitter, I actually did a giveaway and asked the following question, “What brand of skincare do I use?”  Many of you were correct in that I use Jan Marini products.  I reviewed them a while ago and I still use them on a daily basis.  I wanted to update you on current changes and developments to my skincare routine several months later now that the weather has changed.

I was very fortunate to receive a personalized consultation with the amazing Jan Marini…skincare expert to the stars.  She listened to my skincare woes and recommended a specific system just for me.  To see that post, click here.

I recently refilled my current stock and was impressed to see the new packaging.  They now offer skincare sets according to your needs.  I use the Age Intervention set – it’s all about prevention people!  I have dry, sensitive skin.  Since I don’t have a lot of oils in my skin, wrinkles can form easier.  I follow my skincare regimen to prevent that as long as possible.  I do get a lot of comments on my YouTube page on my skin, and this is what I use.

Check out the new packaging…it’s super chic!  It went from a gray with blue lettering to a new see-through floating containers.  I’m in love!

My set actually included a jar of Transformation Cream which isn’t a part of my regimen.  I’ve actually tried it before and it’s super amazing.  It really refreshes your skin and repairs any damage.  So guess what?  I’m giving it away!

Question & Before & After-wow!

Burning question of the day?

(side note: I used to have a blog that basically chronicled my daily/personal life called Adventures in Kandeeland – I started this blog way before I even started on youtube or any other blog…it was like my daily diary/journal that the world could see, I took it down because my ex-husband didn’t want me to post pics of our kids online…the judge said I’m allowed to post pictures that don’t show their faces up close or basically so you can’t really see what they look like….ha ha ha)
anyway….
I miss being able to maybe share with or inspire other people, moms, girls, humans…and this was the original kandee-anything online….

QUESTION: would you want to read this blog again KANDEELAND blog….? please comment below

NEXT, please look at the WOW-factor that Janea has…she sent me an email with her BEFORE KANDEE-ness and AFTER…after she went a did some eyebrow shaping and hair and make-up dazzling…thanks to the help of my videos…and voila…she looks like the next contestant for America’s Next Top Model.

Janea Green is not a model, but a photographer and I was seriously impressed with her before and after! Click here to see her photography website…and a huge THANKS to Janae for letting me post her pics!

make-up does more than decorate your face, it brings out your confidence and lets the you that hides behind insecurities come out and shine bright for the world to see!
extra-extra side note: I feel beyond exhausted, tired, and my brain is not functioning at it’s normal level….please excuse any typos or mispellings….I’m too tired to go back and check…ha ha ha
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…snoring……zzzzz..what…what….oh I’m awake…..
huge love and sleep on pillowy beds with sheets that are worthy of feeling like a kiss, and enough pillows to soften and support every part of you like a full body hug…….oh sweet rest…..
typed with love and tired eyeballs….you kandee

Drugstore Makeup Haul

Hi Bellas,

I’m back with another video.  This is a haul devoted strictly to drugstore makeup.  I found some really great items that I’ve started using on a regular basis.  A lot of these products are great for back to school and I’ve even stuck some of them in my professional makeup kit.

Click here to see the haul!
Check out my video!

Here are some of the items I picked up:

ELF eyshadow primer $3:  Works pretty good on my normal/dry lids…but those with oily lids might have some issues.

Cover Girl Queen Collection Bronzers $6.99:  I picked these up because Celebrity Makeup Artist Sam Fine loves them.  They’re not completely matte, but the shimmer isn’t obvious.  I actually like them.  Great for women of color.  I haven’t used them on clients yet which is why I bought them, but I tried it on myself and it applies smooth and pigmented.

ELF Beauty Book in Smokey Eyes and Eye Brights $5:  I was pleasantly surprised by these palettes.  The colors are super pigmented and don’t disappear when you blend.  They are a bit soft so watch for fall out…and skip the 2 or 3 super glittery shades in the palette because they kinda suck.  I’ve been wearing these palettes every time I go out and I’m loving it.

Milani Infinite Liquid Liner $5.49:  If you’re looking for a dupe for MAC’s liquid last liners this is it.  The formula is pretty thick but believe me, it will not budge.  I had it on my hand for three days!  Wipe the excess off the brush before you apply.  Great for crying brides!

There are a bunch of other products I picked up but I couldn’t find pictures for them, so you’ll have to check out the video!  This includes:  ELF brushes and Oil Blotting Sheets, NYC Bronzer in Bronze Gold, and Studio Tools Crease Brush.

I’ve been using these products whenever I apply makeup.  This look is the same makeup I rocked in my Avon Hair Blowout vid.  I wanted to film a tutorial for it but of course I forgot to press record, lol.  You’ll find a lot of FOTDs coming up where I use these drugstore palettes.  Stay tuned!

FTC Disclosure:  All items purchased by me.
